Last Friday, 6th December 2024, the Cyprus Fintech Summit (CFS) event lit up the Crowne Plaza hotel in Limassol, and what a day it was!

With nearly 250 attendees and a sold-out crowd, CFS 2024 reaffirmed its status as the must-attend fintech event in Cyprus and beyond.

Celebrating its fifth year, CFS has come a long way since its virtual debut during the Covid era. This year’s summit was more than just a conference, it was a celebration of fintech’s growth, a showcase of the industry’s brightest minds, and a testament to the incredible progress that has put Cyprus firmly on the global fintech map.

The energy in the room was definitely palpable as thought leaders and innovators from across the globe shared their insights. A packed agenda of keynote speeches, panel debates, and networking sessions kept attendees engaged from start to finish.

The event kicked off with a packed auditorium, where attendees were treated to thought-provoking debates, groundbreaking ideas, and forward-thinking perspectives from over 30 world-class speakers and panellists.

“It has been fantastic to witness such dynamic discussions on the stage. The speakers aren't just sharing insights, but they are pushing boundaries. I also really love the networking atmosphere. I’ve been to a few events in Cyprus, but nothing has come close to what I experienced here,” said Aigul Gimranova from Arcanis Capital, an audience member who left the summit inspired.

Just outside the auditorium, the booth area really became a hive of activity, where fintech companies from Cyprus and around the world met with attendees, forged connections, and laid the groundwork for future collaborations.

The event also benefited from an unexpected gift - perfect weather.

After days of rain, the sun shone brightly over Limassol, creating the ideal setting for attendees to network during coffee and lunch breaks. Many took advantage of the blue skies to continue discussions outdoors and metres from the sandy beach, further enhancing the summit’s reputation as one of the best networking spaces on the island.

“CFS has truly become a global stage for fintech. It’s not just about the content - it’s about the connections and opportunities that arise. It’s the first event in Cyprus that I look forward to and I can’t wait for the next one,” noted attendee, Hassan Kanaan, who flew in from Lebanon and praised the event’s balance of professionalism and camaraderie.

Over the past five years, Cyprus has transformed into a hotspot of innovation, and CFS has played a key role in fostering that growth. This year’s sold-out crowd was proof that the island’s fintech ecosystem is thriving, and attracting international attention.

One of the most surprising aspects of the event was how engaged attendees remained throughout the day. Unlike many conferences where attendance drops significantly after lunch, CFS kept its audience hooked until the very last session.

“It was my first time at Cyprus Fintech Summit and I’d have to say that it’s simply the best fintech event in terms of closeness and the organisation that went into it. Another thing I want to say is that it was remarkable to see how many attendees stayed for the full day. It shows just how valuable and engaging the content we’ve just experienced was,” said Charlie Williams of London Trading Index, who had also flown in for the event from London, England.
